The department had been established in 1986.
Since its inception the department has gained a reputation in University of Pune as renowned department due to high academic standards established by qualified, experienced and devoted staff.
All the 10 laboratories in the department are well equipped as per AICTE and University of Pune norms ,to name a few like, CNC Trainer Lathe, Co ordinate measuring machine, mini steam power plant,vapour absorption test rig.
The computer lab is having latest softwares like AUTOCAD-2007, Turbo C, CATIA, IDEAS, and ANSYS and also AO size multi color plotter.
